Testing_101 : What is Testing

Hi guys,
My name is Anuj Kumar Dhanore. I'm working as a software testing engineer.
In this blog I provide you about Software testing methodologies (Manual and Automation).

What is Testing ?
  • To ensure that whether our application working as per costumer requirement or not.
  • Software testing is the process of verifying whether the project will be acceptable to all its end users or not.
  • Continuously maintaining and managing quality of software.
Testing is a process to provide 100% quality product to customer as per customer requirement.
Software testing is a process of executing a program or application with the intent of finding the software bugs. It can also be stated as the process of validating and verifying that a software program or application or product: Meets the business and technical requirements that guided it's design and development.

Software testing can also provide an objective, independent view of the software to allow the business to appreciate and understand the risks of software implementation.
Software testing involves the execution of a software component or system component to evaluate one or more properties of interest. In general, these properties indicate the extent to which the component or system under test:
  • meets the requirements that guided its design and development,
  • responds correctly to all kinds of inputs,
  • performs its functions within an acceptable time,
  • is sufficiently usable,
  • can be installed and run in its intended environments, and
  • achieves the general result its stakeholders desire.

Software testing can be done by software testers. Until the 1980s, the term "software tester" was used generally, but later it was also seen as a separate profession. Regarding the periods and the different goals in software testing, different roles have been established: manager, test lead, test analyst, test designer, tester, automation developer, and test administrator.
