Testing_122 : Defect Life Cycle

Defect or Bug Life Cycle :

• As soon as the Test Engineer identifies the defect in Application...
• Test Engineer has to report defect using BugZilla (or Track+).
• By selecting Status, Severity, Found in Version/Build and providing Steps To Reproduce.
• If it requires adding attachments, attach screenshots or necessary information regarding defect.
• Test Engineer will report the defect to Test Lead / Dev Lead.
• At the time of reporting, the defect status is called NEW.
• Then Test Lead/Dev Lead check the defect and if it legit he change the status to OPEN.
• Once the defect OPEN the developer will fix the defect.
• Test Engineer will be notified of FIXED defects which can be RETESTED against new build.
• If defect is FIXED, perform Retest and change the status to FIX VERIFIED.
• Finally the Test Lead will verify once again and he will CLOSE the defect.
